Directions from the I-94 Exit (#103) to Lake Carlos Villas:  Turn right (North) onto Highway 29, and follow for 3.1 miles.  Turn right on Hwy 29/27 (also known as '3rd' Ave).  Go 7 blocks.  Turn left onto Hwy 29.  Go .6 mile.  (The road "y's" here).  Turn left onto County Rd. 42 (also known as 'Nokomis').  Follow Cty. 42 for 2.9 miles.  LCV will be on your left, showing our Fire No. to be 3954.

A road construction project is targeted to begin August 1, 2010.  The public access close to Lake Carlos Villas will be closed.  Please contact the LCV Office for updates as to where you can launch your boat.  Although there will be some inconveniences, you will always have access to the Villas. 

The city of Alexandria is the hub of the central Minnesota lakes area.  Although the city proper has a population of approximately 10,000, the facilities are much greater because of the many people living around the many lakes located in the area.  Golf, fishing, theatre, shopping, and touring the countryside are major activites in the summer,  with ice fishing, skiing, and snowmobiling taking over in the winter.  Dining at one of the many restaurants in the area is a year-round activity.
